Cynthia, Booker, Joe, Nikki, and Andromache ("Andy") are age-old warriors with regenerative impersonation talents who enjoy their good shape to help people. Former CIA operative Kople slammed a set of kidnapped children in South Sudan to lose them. During the course of the venture, however, they are ambushed with the help of a team of infantry. After restoring their wounds and killing their assailants, they find the recording device and recognize that Copley had set them up to reveal they are apparent immortality.

Meanwhile, in Afghanistan, US Marine Neil Freeman cut his throat while crossing a military target, only to recover without a scratch. Soon after, she shares a nightmare with other immortal people, who were then on alert for her lifestyle. Despite the crew's international war, Andy tracks Freeman and rescues Freeman before he is kidnapped for an outside investigation.

Copley confirmed the video of the ambush for drug executive Steven Merrick, who sends the operatives to capture the team and get to the bottom of the mysteries in their abilities. Andy brings Neil to France, in which Neil meets the rest of his group. He is defined as the first Quynh among Andy's comrades, captured for centuries in the past by priests and thrown into the sea in an iron coffin, and has been drowning continuously for over 500 years. The institution also reveals that they are no longer truly immortal: their ability to heal eventually stops without caution.

Using Merrick's army, the institution ambushes; Joe and Nikki are captured, while a heavily injured Booker is left as fodder for Andy. Andy kills his attackers as a substitute but soon discovers that he has lost his immortality, as the injuries he has suffered in battle have not healed. Booker Copley realizes, however, that Neil refuses to enroll him to go after him, unable to accept his fate to escape his pulse and his own family.

Andy and Booker confront Kopley, only for Booker to shoot them as Merrick's big operatives. Booker defends his betrayal, arguing that Merrick can find a way to relinquish his immortality. They are trapped because he realizes that Andy is not always recessionary. Copley has a business at heart when he sees that Merrick is ready to torture him indefinitely to investigate.

Neil, realizing that Booker has bought the institution, is simply overdue to be introverted, but he convinces Copley to assist him in the rescue work.

Copley and Nile Storm Merrick's London office. Neil advises Copley to return as it is too risky for him. After immortals are freed was released, he fought his way against the rest of Merrick's strongholds, later killing himself.

As punishment for his betrayal, Andy forbids Booker to contact him for a one-year exemption. The rest of the organization meets with Copley, who explains how they tracked him down, and how much of his past missions had an impact on him, more than he'd ever thought, with the descendants of the people who gave him the world. Saved to help. With renewed self-assurance of their enterprise, the institution works with Copley to keep his life a secret.

After six months in Paris, an alcoholic Booker is surprised to satisfy Quynh in his condominium.
